A few years ago, I was introduced to the Elimination_Diet.  At first, it seemed pretty radical – gluten free, dairy free, soy free, peanut free, and even orange free.  In fact, it was daunting.

BUT, after really looking at what IS permitted on the diet (which is outlined in the above link,) and with the results (beginning with a permanent 14 pound weight loss), I found I stuck with it for a long time and, I still stick with it more often than not.

The diet is about inflammation – or rather ridding the body of it.  There is an avenue of thought that most of what “ails” us is caused by inflammation in the body – from joint issues such as arthritis and auto-immune diseases such as fibromyalgia to sinus and allergy problems – and may be unduly influenced by what we eat.

Along with your yoga practice, being mindful and still gives you the opportunity to pay attention to your entire “being” and taking your time when making choices about when, where, and what you eat.

As I always say – “it’s all connected”.
